Kitchen-Table-Workshops for Donors

Enjoy a One-Hour Zen Gardening Exploration Session at my kitchen table, in exchange for a donation of $50 or more to the Tri-P and Friends for Refugees private sponsorship committee I am part of.

As you may have read by now, elsewhere on this site, I believe that Zen Gardening can offer us opportunities to reconnect with ourselves, with nature, with a spiritual presence... whilst sitting at our own kitchen tables. It can also offer a welcome chance to connect with a friend over some tea and the art of Zen gardening itself! Enjoy an afternoon of creativity, shared memories, and mindful discovery!

And for those of you who happen to be familiar with "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron's ... my thought is that this experience could make for an ideal Artist Date ;)

How would it work?

Once your donation confirmation of $50+ goes through, you are welcome to text me at five one four two four three zero zero nine nine, to RSVP.

On the day of, I would set up one or more large Zen gardens—prepared with sand, ready to be shaped and experimented with. Alongside each garden, I would put a set of rakes and other helpful or inspiring items, built, bought or found...

I would serve you a pot of tea and then introduce to you the various items and tools laid out around us on the table for the occasion—all of which were collected by myself through the years. I would go over the type of sand and other raw materials I use as well as where I’ve sourced them. We could also go over the methods I’ve used to craft my Zen garden, to create small rakes and to sculpt texture spheres.

During this hour, you are welcome to take notes or pictures, ask questions, exchange ideas, and reflect on how Zen gardening might fit into your life—or perhaps how it could bring peace and meaning to someone else you care about. Depending on what I have in hand on that day, I might be able to offer you the option of purchasing a couple of the items or the materials that I could have handy (extra wooden frame, sand, rakes or handmade texture spheres) to help you launch your own Zen gardening journey. If, at the signing-up stage, you already have a specific tool or item in mind that you would prefer to purchase directly from me ready-made, please share it with me so I can do my best to have it prepared and reserved for you if I have the necessary materials.

How does that sound to you? Invite a friend along for tea, make a donation to our refugees committee and then "Meet Me in The Garden"! The small yet vastly meaningful land of Zen Gardening!
